WHATS UP GUYS!
I have officially made it through my first week as a missionary and also to my
second p-day! WOW that’s crazy! First off I just gotta say being a missionary
is amazing and so much fun even at home! My first day we started off with class
at 7:30 and I met my district. My district is amazing and so fun and they all
have such strong testimonies. I also met my companion, Hermana Fricke! She is
the BEST, and I can't wait to be companions in person! Going into the MTC at
home I was kinda scared not gonna lie but after the first day I just felt so
happy and already loved it. This past week has flown by, it seriously feels
like I started yesterday ahaha!
On Wednesday it was our first p-day. It felt nothing like a p-day because we
still had our normal schedule and our classes throughout our day. I'm guessing
it will be a little different when I get to the Provo MTC... which is in
exactly a week now! YAY!! During our p-day, Hermana Fricke and I were scheduled
for a helping others activity which is basically where you teach someone a
lesson via zoom. We prepared for our lesson, had some scriptures and some good
thoughts to share and we taught about the restoration and the Book of Mormon.
At the end of this lesson the person we taught filled out a little survey about
how we taught, and let me tell you we thought we did sooo good… but apparently
it was not as good as we thought so that wasn’t fun. But hey it was only our
third day! By the next day we learned so many new things on how to teach and we
already knew what we needed to do to improve! We have our second lesson today
with a new person, so hopefully that goes well!
We started learning Spanish!!! Ahhhh it's kinda hard but the more I practice
the easier it gets! Hermana Fricke and I try to speak in Spanish as much as
possible and we have started reading the Book of Mormon in Spanish as well! One
Hermana in my district, Hermana Hunter is a beast at Spanish and every time she
prays it is always in Spanish. It's not even short simple prayers, they are long
prayers that we would normally say in English! crazy, maybe one day I'll be as
good as her ;)
I have learned so many things in this last week, it's insane! I am so excited
to continue MTC and go to Provo next week! I'm also sooooo excited to meet my district
in person! They all have taught me so much as well, and I can't wait to keep
learning from them. They are also the funniest people ever and we just get
along so well! We’re so lucky our teacher Hermana Aguayo can deal with us
hahaha… one day when she left her screen Hermana Nase screenshotted her
background and we made that our background, so when she came back we all had
her background! HA good thing she loves us!!
Welp, cheers to my first email!! I love this gospel and I can't wait to share it
with all the people out in good ol' Orem Utah!
Te Amo,
